What does the verified badge mean?

It means the account has confirmed its email address and nothing more. It is not a quality judgement on anybody's notes and it is not an endorsement — it says only that there is a working address behind the account and therefore a way to reach the person.

We are deliberate about this because a trust signal that quietly means something else stops being a trust signal.
