Where a note came from, and what you may do with it
Uploaders already declared the origin and licence of material that is not their own. That declaration is now shown on the note instead of being collected and hidden.

Notes that can actually be found
Every subject got its own page, notes and discussions resolve by name instead of by database id, and the homepage stopped shifting under people on slow phones.

The upload now knows what a good note looks like
Uploading was rebuilt around what is actually happening to your file, the library learned to score how findable a note is, and the help centre moved out of the app so it can be corrected without an app update.

The wordmark was replaced by a W that works at favicon size, the site got the icons it had never actually served, and the two pages every site needs and this one did not.

Licensing split into four documents, and policies that are ours
One licensing screen became four documents, the Sub-processors list the Privacy Policy had promised was published, and we stopped reproducing our parent company’s policies as though they were ours.

An account the platform declares is not a person
Some things on this platform are written by software. Those accounts are now labelled everywhere a name appears, and they no longer trigger notifications as though a classmate had posted.

The seeded accounts, and the fake reviews on the sign-in page
202 accounts had been created in one morning to make the platform look populated, and nine reviews written for them were being shown to every visitor. All of it is gone.

The help centre stopped shipping inside the app
